Zhiwei Yun is a Shanghai-born designer. She studied at the Birmingham City University in England, where she received a BA in Product Design. In 2018, Zhiwei pursued her MFA in 3D Design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. She enjoys exploring the world as a traveler as well as volunteering her time in various countries. Her work expresses her feelings.
Art is a great joy in her life. It is a way to find and share the beauty. It is also a way to explain how she understands the world. Apart from her 3D major, she also does graphic work. She considers herself a student for life, as there are so many things in the world to learn. Creating objects is a way to understand the self. In Chinese, we have an old saying, “知之者不如好之者，好之者不如乐之者。” which translates to “The one who knows is not as good as the one who wants to know; the one who wants to know is not as good as the one who loves to know.” Do everything you love, love everything you do. Live your life to its fullest.
